We've created a set of community guidelines to make the Swell app safe, authentic, thoughtful, and inclusive. By using Swell, you agree to these guidelines and our Terms of Service.
Authentic and Meaningful Interactions
Speak about topics that move you and those you care deeply about, sharing your own perspective—whether that comes from real-world experience or research. Share your unique insights and strike a conversational tone that engages people.
Be Real. Be You.
Keep Conversations Going
Engage with the people replying to your Swell by responding to them and applauding them for their responses, where appropriate. You can report responses you feel are inappropriate or violate our rules.
Be Kind to Each Other
Old-fashioned manners are still important: be thoughtful, be polite, and show respect to others so that we all may continue to enjoy Swell together.
Unwelcome Content
Though Swell does not screen, moderate, or remove offensive content unless reported, we do have a strict policy against posting content that
- Is illegal
- Is abusive
- Endorses or incites violence
- Threatens, harasses, bullies, or encourages others to do so
- Is sexual or suggestive content
- Is intended to spam or solicit
- Is incomprehensible
- Is unrelated to the conversation topic
- Encourages attacks on anyone based on their race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, disabilities or diseases
- Is in violation of the Terms of Service
We also have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to sharing content that supports terrorism, organized crime or hate groups.
Fostering a Stronger, Healthier Swell Community
If you hear something on the app that you think may violate our guidelines, please help us by reporting it through the Contact Us option available in your Swell app settings. We have a global team that reviews these reports and works as quickly as possible to remove content that doesn't meet our guidelines.
As a user, you also have the ability to delete any Swells that violate the community guidelines from any conversation you begin. Just touch and hold any Swell for the menu to appear, then choose delete.
